New Estimates on Cost of Iraq

The heads of the US Defense establishment have changed their figure regarding the cost for keeping American troops in Iraq.
Will some use this as proof that we shouldn’t have gone in there in the first place? Of course they will. Funny thing is, though, that this money, as far as I know, was already budgeted somewhat.
Remember the figure before we went to war, how the cost of the war would be $79 billion? The hot war only cost around $20 billion–leaving $59 billion for clean-up. Where has the money gone? Beats me, but as far as I see another $2 billion extra a month should fit right in with room to spare.
